Atkins Nuclear Secured is breaking new ground in Tri-Cities Atkins Global | 08/16/22 The new, state-of-the-art Atkins Technology Center (ATC) will be located across from the existing Atkins Engineering Laboratory in Washington State. Constructed in partnership with Fowler General Construction, Inc., the ATC will feature 16,000 square feet of open, collaborative office space similar to the global SNC-Lavalin Lava Labs and another 16,000-square-foot high-bay testing area specifically purposed for developing innovative nuclear and environmental cleanup technologies, digital solutions, robotics and Engineering Net Zero advancement. Estimated at $18 million, this investment represents a significant commitment to the Department of Energy’s cleanup goals, to Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSUTC), and to the local Tri-Cities. The ATC furthers Atkins' partnership with WSUTC by providing dedicated workspace for students, allowing them to be a part of Atkins’ engineering and technology
innovations.
ECA is glad to see continued commitment to community engagement through these investments, internships, and
Co-op arrangements in the Tri-Cities.
