NEW ECA REPORT - FROM THE ATOMIC AGE TO NEW NUCLEAR: ENERGY COMMUNITIES READY TO HELP UNLEASH NUCLEAR POWER

Communities across the country that were once home to government nuclear sites and/or former commercial energy plants are ready to help the United States today unleash the next wave of nuclear technologies, according to a new white paper from the Energy Communities Alliance (ECA). In its paper, “From the Atomic Age to New Nuclear,” ECA outlines a host of projects either underway or currently planned at sites across the county to support new nuclear development across the fuel cycle.

Governor urges study of nuclear power, as the energy source makes a comeback

Gov. Tony Evers, who has focused on renewable energy for much of his time in office, is making a push in his latest state budget to look at expanding nuclear power. That includes calling for $1 million to study siting a new plant and expanding an existing research credit to cover nuclear power.

Deal finalised for Belgian reactor restarts in November

The Belgian government and French utility Engie have closed the agreement covering the extension of the operation of the Tihange 3 and Doel 4 nuclear power reactors by 10 years and on all obligations related to radioactive waste.
