Published: Fri, 02/06/15
ECA's D.C. Peer Exchange, "Communities Working with DOE," is taking place next Thursday, February 12. We look forward to seeing everyone next week! We'll be hosting a welcome reception for registered attendees on Wednesday evening at the Dubliner Restaurant near the U.S. Capitol.
If you're still interested in signing up, registration information can be found here.
House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Mike Simpson (R-ID) will kick off our peer exchange with his keynote speech on Thursday morning. We'll also hear from new Nuclear Cleanup Caucus Chair, Tennessee Congressman Chuck Fleischmann who serves the Oak Ridge area. Come listen to congressional views on DOE policy, DOE's budget, anticipated legislation, and how communities can work together in 2015!
From the Department of Energy, we'll have National Nuclear Security Administration Administrator Frank Klotz, Acting Undersecretary for Management and Performance David Klaus, Acting Assistant Secretary of Environmental Management Mark Whitney, Assistant Secretary of Nuclear Energy Pete Lyons (invited) and others.
ECA's website has more information about the exciting presentations we've lined up as well as the panel discussions to help local governments advocate on behalf of the citizens they serve. We will have high level representatives from DOE, NNSA, and the contractors who manage sites across the country.
ECA's Peer Exchange: Communities Working with DOE will take place February 12-13 at the Liaison Hotel in Washington, D.C. We hope you can make it!
