Senate subcommittee marks up FY12 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill

The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development marked up and approved the Fiscal Year 2012 (FY12) funding bill for the Department of Energy this afternoon.
The committee press release is available here. The FY12 bill provides $31.625 billion for the Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of the Interior, and DOE. This is $57 million below the FY11 enacted level.

DOE Funding Levels
The subcommittee legislation would provide $25.549 billion for DOE and an additional $241 for independent agencies (such as the NRC), as follows:
Defense Environmental Cleanup would receive $5.002 billion FY11 Enacted: $5 billion FY12 President's Request: $5.4 billion FY12 House Bill: $4.9 billion Non-Defense Environmental Cleanup would receive $219 million
