FY13 E&W Bill passes House and Senate Approps; House panel releases FY13 Strategic Forces NDAA mark
Published: Thu, 04/26/12
It's been a busy week on the Hill for the Fiscal Year 2013 (FY13) Energy and Water Appropriations Bill and the FY13 National Defense Authorization Act. The House and Senate will make even more progress on the measures today.
FY13 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill
The Senate Appropriations Committee passed its version of the FY13 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill this morning, sending it to the full Senate. The House Appropriations Committee took the same action with its version of the measure yesterday (see press release).
The FY13 Energy and Water Bill is now among the first to reach both full chambers of Congress. The measures have not yet been scheduled for appearance on the House or Senate floors.
Despite the progress made by the FY13 Energy and Water Bill (especially as compared to the FY12 process), many observers do not expect Congress to pass any appropriations bills until after the presidential election in November.

FY13 National Defense Authorization Act
The House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces has released its mark of the FY13 National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 4310).
The Strategic Forces Subcommittee oversees strategic weapons, ballistic missile defense, space programs, and DOE national security programs.
The subcommittee will mark up its legislation at 1:30 PM today. The live and archived webcast will be available here. |
