DOE/NNSA reconsiders award of $5B contract ECA Staff August 30, 2016
Yesterday’s ECA Update included the August 26 story, “NNSA picks Lockheed Subsidiary for $5B follow-on Nevada Natl Security Site
operations contract,” which detailed DOE/NNSA’s award of a 10-year, $5 billion contract to Nevada Site Science Support and Technologies Corporation (NVS3T) to help manage the Nevada National Security Site.
However, on August 27 (the day after the contract was awarded), NNSA learned that NVS3T was recently acquired
by Leidos Innovations Corporation from Lockheed Martin. NNSA was not made aware of this change in ownership before the contract was issued. NNSA has informed all concerned parties that they consider this new information to be a material change to the offer. NNSA is currently evaluating its options regarding the contract award. |
