Today the Department of Energy (DOE) announced the release of the President's Budget Request for FY 2019. Accompanying the announcement, DOE published a fact sheet that includes the top-line numbers from the President's request and the addendum to the request. 

Highlights from the fact sheet:

- $6.6 billion for Environmental Management, $182 million above FY17 enacted levels;

- $15.1 billion for the National Nuclear Security Administrative, $2.2 above FY17 enacted levels;

- $5.4 billion for Science, same as FY17 enacted levels;

- $757 million for Nuclear Energy, $295 million below FY17 enacted levels. Includes $54 million for advanced Small Modular Reactor (SMR) research and development;

- $120 million for Yucca Mountain and the Interim Storage Program.
