Christopher Hanson appointed Chairman of US Nuclear Regulatory Commission

ECA congratulates longtime friend and supporter of ECA, Christopher Hanson, who was designated Chairman of United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by President Joe Biden earlier this month. Mr. Hanson was originally appointed to serve on the NRC in June 2020; his current terms ends on June 30, 2024. ECA previously worked with Mr. Hanson when he served as a professional staff member on
the Senate Appropriations Committee, and also in his former position as senior adviser within the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.

Hearing to Consider Nomination of the Honorable Jennifer Granholm to be the Secretary of Energy
Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources | 1/27/2021
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. EST in Room 106 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, DC.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider the nomination of the Honorable Jennifer Granholm to be the Secretary of Energy.
Members of the committee may participate in person or online. The committee will follow guidelines developed in consultation with the Office of the Attending Physician and the Senate Rules Committee to protect the health of members, staff, and the public. This includes maintaining six-foot social distance spacing in the hearing room. Pursuant to this guidance, Senate office buildings are not open to the
public other than official business visitors and credentialed press at this time. Accordingly, in-person visitors cannot be accommodated at this hearing. T
he hearing will be webcast live on the committee’s website, and an archived video will be available shortly after the hearing is complete. Witness testimony will be available on the website at the start of the hearing.

Finelli named Deputy Chief of Staff for DOE Office of Environmental Management

ECA also congratulates former ECA Deputy Executive Director, Allison Finelli, who was formally named this month as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management. Ms. Finelli now has nearly six years of experience within the Department of Energy, serving in multiple roles in the Office of Environmental Management including in the offices of Field Operations,
Communications, as well as at the Hanford Site’s Office of River Protection, where she served as Acting Chief of Staff to Manager Brian Vance.
