As part of the New Nuclear Initiative series, ECA is hosting a webinar, “Engaging Energy Communities in Advanced Nuclear Demonstration Projects” on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 12:00 pm EDT to 3:15 pm EDT. Discussion will focus on the role for local governments as
potential hosts for new nuclear demonstration projects. Keynote speakers include Ashley Finan, Director of the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) and Christine King, Director, Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN) Initiative.
ECA’s New Nuclear Initiative aims to help communities knowledgeable about - and in many ways driven by - the nuclear missions they already host, be an integral part of the nuclear future. ECA members want to be meaningfully engaged - and prepared - to match their communities’ strengths, unique experiences and resources (i.e., skilled workforce, relationships with DOE/national
laboratories, community colleges and contractors) to best support advanced nuclear and decarbonization goals, and build future economic development opportunities. Through this series of educational webinars, ECA is helping to facilitate interaction with policymakers at the federal, state and local level, economic development entities, regulators and developers.
Please find below the draft agenda and registration link. Please contact ECA Program Manager MacKenzie Kerr at mackenziek@energyca.org with any questions.
We look forward to your participation.
